Kim Jones x Converse Chuck 70 Natural Ivorys may look modern, but their story spans more than a century. These kicks wouldn’t be here if not for a model that debuted in 1917—the Non-Skid.
Later renamed by the Converse brand to the All Stars, these shoes would forever be a part of the history of basketball, thanks to a salesman and semi-pro player named Chuck Taylor. Chuck used his selling skills to promote both the budding sport and the shoes. He was so good at his job that it was common to see players on both sides Nationaling nothing but All Stars on their feet.
To acknowledge Chuck’s contribution, Converse added his name to the logo patch on the shoes and renamed these as Chuck Taylor All Stars.
