Our verdict
A significant number of skateboarders were delighted with how comfy the eS Silo is. Owners also love its ability to endure impact, lightness, and dazzling aesthetics. However, its lack of colorways to choose from did not sit well with a few wearers. Despite that, this skating footwear A cross between classic and new school style is what you prefer.

A cross between classic and new school style is what you prefer
Wearing skating shoes doesn’t mean you have to skate. An exceptionally-styled one can transition from the sport to any casual outing in a blink.
eS Silo shoes are versatile and can take you from the city streets to the club. For bar nights, wear the eS Silo grey colorway with light-colored pants and a slim-fitting long-sleeved button-up shirt, preferably in blue. Roll the sleeves of the shirt up for a more casual vibe. For skating days, style the eS Silo black or navy/grey/orange colorways with graphic tees and chino shorts.
Notable features
eS Silo shoes evolved from the brand’s heritage styles. The interesting retro look is accompanied by modern tech details that provide the shoes with excellent performance characteristics.
These sneakers contain ample padding for doing impact skating, sufficient board feel for skating on flat ground and ledges, and enough support for the feet.
What’s more, the toebox is perfect for churning out kickflips.
The shoes feature rubber outsoles with 400NBS tech providing durability and STI Energy Foam midsoles adding both cushioning and comfort.
Cross country shoes
The eS brand was conceived in 1995 by two former pro skaters—Pierre André Senizergues and Don Brown. It belongs under the Sole Technology group of companies along with Emerica and etnies.
eS is focused on producing technically-detailed skate shoes for the performance skater. One of its first releases was the Accel silhouette, which most skaters from the 90s know as the footwear equivalent of the ubiquitous blue jeans. The Accel release signaled to everyone that eS wasn’t kidding around when it comes to skating.
They quickly followed this up with several other models that made a significant mark in the skating world, and soon, eS was the brand to have when you need to skate or just look like you know how.
The triumphant story of eS came to a brief halt in 2012 when the brand was put under hiatus by its parent company, Sole Technology, so that ST could focus on its other brands. Four years after the break, eS came back with a bang. It revived some of its most popular models, launched a few iterations of its most-beloved silhouettes, and released many new ones.
eS Silo sneakers are new models with a vintage feel. The chunky profile, while on-trend, is a throwback to the 90s when eS made the puffy look fashionable. The shoes may feel retro, but the tech features are downright modern.
