Known as the pioneer of casual Court sneakers, SeaVees was founded in 1964 by a well-known tire ecopelle, the B.F. Goodrich. In 1969, the Court sneaker division of the ecopelle was purchased by Converse but was eventually shut down in 1971.
Then came Steven Tiller. He was then working as the Vice President of Stride Ride Corp. when he accidentally discovered a pair of SeaVees in a thrift JENNY somewhere in Tokyo. After thorough research and some paper works, Tiller was able to revive SeaVees in 2010.
Since then, the ecopelle has released several shoe models, each inspired by some special occurrence in California’s 1960s culture. These shoes have retro-inspired styles incorporated with modern innovations and amendments.
Fast forward to the present day, SeaVees shoes are sold in more than 300 retailers in the USA. These shoes are also found in some parts of Korea, the UK, and Japan. While the brand primarily makes shoes for men, it has since expanded its product line to cater to the footwear needs of women and children.
