Our verdict
Lakai’s Sheffield shoes give the best of the lifestyle and skating worlds. The stylish design is perfect for any casual occasion, but the shoes’ quality construction was found to be extremely potent for skaters who value performance over looks. The sneakers help you to “feel” your tricks while giving you all the support and grip you need. Best of all, they’re extremely durable.

- stylish and remarkable shoes even without much tech involved that can be used for skating and as a lifestyle footwear
Comprehensive and well-thought design
The secret is in the comprehensive design which leaves no part of the shoes unaccounted for. From the placement of the laces and the bands under the tongues to the strong suede material, reflective accents, and grippy soles, every detail satisfies the serious skater.
Exceptional skating shoes
The shoes are especially tough, coming out of hard and daily skating sessions with lots of life still left in them. The treads in the soles are cut deep, which means you can wear them down, but they will still offer you plenty of grips.
Great board control
Built around a grassroots tradition, Lakai has emerged as a skateboarding brand with a genuine heart for the sport. The idea to build a company with an authentic passion for the sport came in 1993 to Mike Carroll and Rick Howard, both professional skateboarders. However, it wasn’t yet the time, and they weren’t ready then.
One of the models that came out from the brand’s skating range is Manchester which was released in 2007. The shoes were no-frills. They were all clean lines and solid build, which proved to be effective but solely for performance purposes.
Ten years since the appearance of Lakai’s Manchesters, new kicks built around the legendary skate shoes were launched. Lakai Sheffields carried much of the same profile and build that endeared skaters to the Manchester silhouette.
But where the quarters of Manchester shoes were all one panel, Sheffield sneakers featured a perf pattern with reflective material. Mesh fabric on the inside kept the shoes well-ventilated.
