Our verdict
Once you take the Trudger for a spin, your feet will thank you for confining them in a plush-from-the-box skate kick. Co-developed by pro skater Simon Bannerot, this mid-top sneaker from Lakai moves in the opposite direction of a tight squeeze around the forefoot, giving your toes room to breathe, unlike some of its rivals. Its often slashed asking price also deserves mention here.

The Trudger's grounded-yet-gorgeous design
Skaters are impressed with Trudger's aesthetics. A vlogger among them has this in his review: "My first impression is—this is a good-looking shoe." "I really like how the bottom looks," says the same reviewer.
No cramped toes in the Trudger
Reviewers are drawn to the excellent build of the Lakai Trudger. Supporting this statement are remarks such as "love this shoe" and "definitely my favorite Lakai shoe!"
But the reason behind their high approval of the Trudger is its tough mixed-media shell. A sneakerhead says that its "high-top profile is perfect for the NW terrain." The same person also says that the kick's upper is so protective that with it "shark bites are deflected."
A rather flat tongue
The interior of the Lakai Trudger is quite comfy right away. An experienced skateboarder says that the boot in question delivers a "great feeling out of the box."
Who should buy the Lakai Trudger
This mid-top Lakai sneaker could have a more padded tongue, according to a critic. He says it's just "a little nitpick," but something that needs to be addressed because he feels like the tongue material isn’t as spongy as those in other skate shoes.
Something for the fleet-footed
That feeling of stiffness underfoot is not a thing in the Lakai Trudger. A tester swears by this, saying, "the cup sole has amazing flexibility."

It's been reported that the featured skate kick has a spacious forefoot section. Its "toe box is roomy, but not too wide where your foot floats around like a work boot," says a non-professional reviewer.
Track and field
Indeed, the Lakai Trudger, which costs $95 by default, is widely sold at a price lower than its MSRP. "For 50 bucks, I would say these are pretty good," says a video blogger proudly.
Spacious around the toes
Warning: You need to configure the Trudger's shoestrings yourself as they are not set up right from the get-go. A vlogger said that he was "NOT excited that they weren’t laced up." "Took me five minutes to lace them up," he added.
