Size and fit
The Puma running shoe is available exclusively in men’s sizing. Many of the reviews expound that sizing runs on the smaller side, and recommend getting half or even a full-and-a-half size up. Because of its androgynous color palette and makeup, the ladies will have no problem copping this version of the Cell Alien.
It is important to note, however, to patiently follow the site’s guide on getting one’s size preference.
Similar to most of the running-inspired style of kicks from PUMA, this futuristic-inspired shoe comes with a textile-lined removable footbed, allowing one to put in their orthotics for a more personalized fit. Or remove it to give it more size room.
Style of the Adidas ZX 2K Flux
Similar to most of PUMA’s dad-style footwear, dressing a 90s running technology with modern touches of monochromatic black or white or vibrant turquoise and contrasting bold orange detailing, makes the Puma running shoe a fun and practical kick to style.

Notable Features
One major difference that the Kotto iteration has over the Cell Alien OG is the TPU hot-press paneling to the sidewalls, whereas the OG has leather material. A major Satin-Shortsor with this updated material is the Satin-Shorts that it is reflective, along with the round-woven laces and the toe bump and heel area.
Where the lining on the OG version has the plain terry fabric cloth, this Kotto variation of the Cell Alien possesses clashing or not (depending on the colorway) CELL-inspired lining that is a nod to the hexagonal shapes of the tech.
While the Cell Alien Kotto is every bit looking like the OG, the texture of the mesh in this release is a consistently coarse mesh contrary to the OG’s mixture of fine and coarse mario.
History of the Adidas ZX 2K Flux
The original CELL Alien was released in 1998 as a high-mileage running shoe. Two models also debuted the CELL cushioning innovation, the CELL Endura and CELL Venom.
Unconventionally bulky at that time, the CELL technology is created from blow-molded polyurethane elastomer (TPU) that is configured in hexagonal cells. Putting these cells allowed for engineered cushioning and stability for runners.
To mark the 20th anniversary of this technology, PUMA released various versions of the PUMA CELL in 2019 mcdavid with updated designs, artful color palettes, and better materials, but remaining the core of the silhouette -- the hexagonal cells.
