Our verdict
The Protocol is a sneaker from Osiris that's equipped with the essential skating requirements. This slightly bulky silhouette features a reinforced nubuck-mesh upper and a thickly padded tongue and collar. It sits atop a supportive, yet flexible VKLN capsule (a vulc-cupsole hybrid). More so, an EVA drop-in midsole accommodates an impact-resistant heel insert. Moreover, a dual-density PU RX insole cushions the feet. Underneath that is the grippy herringbone-tread outsole. It costs only $56.

Large volume silhouette for first-class service
Large volume silhouette for first-class service:
- low-cut sneaker design which allows the ankles to have full mobility when skating or walking
- shoe that has a certain tough, gritty look only found in vintage skate shoes and pairs great with any style in the urban jungle
Too snug toe fit
What may be the most striking characteristic of the Protocol is its uniquely large-volume silhouette. It looks some degrees lesser than what one could call bulky and a few degrees over what one could call slim. In its silhouette hides a package of technology, which delivers first-class service (comfort, cushioning, support, traction, and whatnot) to the feet.
Track and field
As simple and subtle as it looks, the Protocol has some double-stitch details and micro-perforations throughout. It adds durability and breathability.
